ABOUT GAZZELLE

With Cuban parents Gazzelle Diaz was born and raised in New Jersey, and was interested in Fashion at an early age.  Self taught pattern making, sewing and designing she produced her entire wardrobe by the age of 18. With the Fashion Capital of New York as her playground she quickly felt the pulse of  7th Ave with small part time employments during her High School years.

When It was time for college she decided to attend Parson’s School of Design where she exceled and won The  Most  Creative Design Award  containing a distinguished panel of judges such as  Oscar de la Renta, Donna Karen, Stan Herman.

Upon finishing school she was recruited for Dimitri Couture, working under Piero Dimitri a 3 time Coty award winner and  Hall of Fame designer.

Working under Piero Dimitri for close to 10 years Gazzelle acquired extensive tailoring knowledge in the fields of both men and women. Graining a solid foundation for her craft, here she worked with luxury Italian fabrics, exquisite leathers, beautiful furs and the best Italian craftsmanship.

Now married and as Gazzelle Ciampi she  proceeded to work under her own label carried by Neimen Marcus, Bloomingdale, Sak’s and other luxury specialty stores.  Combining well tailored structure clothing with a feminine approach and striving for beauty both sensually and visually has always been her focus challenge.

For Gazzelle, it began as a child, watching her mother a Cuban socialite in the fifties wear beautiful clothing from Designers such as Adolfo and Balenciaga, so it was only natural for to develop a passion for style and grace and devote her life to dressing a women’s body.

Deciding to start a family, Gazzelle had two children now focusing her energy and time to this new venture and placing fashion on the back burner. During this time staying connected to the industry Gazzelle freelanced on several projects throughout the years, including teaching at Fashion Institute of Technology.
